March 18 and 19 2017 The annual Wombat Protection Society of Australia conference will be held.
A recent workshop held in Kelso to engage the community in a plan to treat the wombat population, many of which are currently suffering from mange. The workshop was very well-attended and the West Tamar community is rallying to help.
The humble burrow flap constructed from a bit of wire and an ice cream container lid. Placed at the mouth of the burrow, this simple device will help win the war on mange.
The mange which was laying waste to the wombat population in Narawntapu National Park has now moved well outside the confines of the park and is affecting wombats in many areas. Hardest hit at present are the animals in Kelso.
